Remote Desktop Services – Upgrade and Migration guidelines for Windows Server 2012 R2

The Microsoft RDV team put out blog post with some additional information on the upgrade path of Remote Desktop Services to Windows Server 2012 R2, in addition to the article published earlier about Migrating Remote Desktop Services to Windows Server 2012 R2.

This new blog post contains some more info on possible upgrade paths from Windows Server 2012 as well as Windows Server 2008 R2.

KB: Mstsc.exe crashes when you print a large document from an RDS session

A new KB article (2916266) has been released related to using RD Easy Print. In those cases mstsc.exe could crash, apparently because the large file size exceeds the stack limit in XML Paper Specification (XPS). There is a fix available.

“…When you print a large document from a Remote Desktop Services (RDS) session by using the Easy Print feature in Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, the mstsc.exe process crashes.…”
